About

Project Markivim, by artist Dafna Talmon, started about two years ago with an innocent enough purchase of a pair of oversized Oliver Peoples eyeglass. Interest gathered, and when people wouldn't stop asking to try them on, Dafna started snapping, and kept going ever since.

During these two years, over 1,000 friends, family members, celebrities and pets, have worn my glasses and, and they all became a part of Project Markivim. In Hebrew, "Markivim" literally means "wearing glasses".

On the 5th of November, Project Markivim will come to life in an interactive exhibition curated by Moran Shoub, at the Kastiel Gallery. The exhibition will combine aspects of fashion, social networking, online sharing, lose of self and limitless exhibitionism. Dafna will attend still equipped with her camera, and will expand the exhibition with pictures she'll be taking during the event.

Visitors will be encouraged to bring their old glasses that will be donated to the international organization “Lions” – to be reconstructed and donated for charity.
